Staying up late - equal chronic suicidality?

A survey conducted by University Kembangan Malaysia (UKM) and University of Malaya (UM) in 2021 surveyed more than 11,000 adults in Malaysia to find out the reasons why people do not get enough sleep. More than half of the respondents admitted that their level of dispersion was too low. A total of 6,212 respondents slept an average of just 6.49 hours a night. The probability of going to bed late generally increased. "Early to bed, early to rise" has become an unattainable goal for most people.

She spends a lot of time watching dramas and catching up with celebrities at night. She doesn't feel that her health is affected by her high mental state after staying up late. Yang Yu Xin is a customer service representative in a company." About Stay up late she said“I often stay up late mainly due to work pressure and some personal reasons. My job often requires me to complete tasks before project deadlines, and sometimes that means staying up late to meet the deadlines. Additionally, I have some hobbies and interests like writing and programming, which I often pursue in the evenings. So, both work and personal interests sometimes compel me to stay up late.”

Staying up late indeed has some negative effects on her physical and mental health. she often feels tired, easily get drowsy, and occasionally experience mood swings. She aware that this is not good for her health, but to some extent, she feels like she doesn’t have another choice. She actively working on finding a better balance between work and life. On how to improve the impact of staying up late on her, she said“I have tried some methods to mitigate the impact of staying up late. I now pay more attention to maintaining a regular sleep schedule and try to avoid staying up too late. I've also adopted some healthy habits, such as exercising more and improving my diet, in the hope of increasing my stamina and resilience. Furthermore, I've learned to better manage my workload to reduce work-related stress.”

Staying up late will make her feel mentally exhausted and affect her health. She thinks staying up late affects her health. In her case, staying up late can lead to gastrointestinal indigestion, and it can also lead to weight gain and hair loss.

In fact, the definition of staying up late varies between each individual and it is difficult to generalize a definition of staying up late that applies to everyone. At present, the most scientific explanation of staying up late is to judge from the regularity and quality of sleep. The fast pace of life, the constant delay in bedtime, coupled with occasional media reports of "sudden death after staying up late", people who sleep late are prone to health anxiety, worrying that their bodies cannot keep up with the footsteps, and therefore pay more attention to health-related topics.
